Hawaii CLE Requirements
Hawaii attorneys are required to complete 3 hours of CLE each year. At least 1 hour must be in the area of Ethics. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits by December 31st and report by January 31st each year.
Attorneys may carryover up to 3 hours of CLE credit to the following year.
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly Admitted Attorneys are exempt from completing the annual CLE requirement during the year in which they were admitted. However, Newly Admitted Attorneys must complete a specific Hawaii Professionalism course, distinct from general CLE courses, sponsored jointly by the Hawaii State Bar and the Supreme Court and offered only bi-annually.
Hawaii attorneys may view all 3 hours of CLE through online courses.
