Mississippi CLE Requirements

Attorney Requirements

Mississippi attorneys are required to complete 12 hours of CLE each year. At least 1 hour must be in the area of Ethics, Professional Responsibility, or Malpractice Prevention. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits by July 31st and report by August 15th each year.

Attorneys may carry over up to 12 hours of CLE credit to the following year.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly Admitted Attorneys must complete an approved new lawyer program of 12 hours of CLE courses, including 6 CLE hours in Basic Skills Training and 6 CLE hours in Ethics and Professionalism.

Online Courses

Mississippi attorneys may earn up to 6 hours of CLE through online courses.
