Nevada CLE Requirements

Attorney Requirements

Nevada attorneys are required to complete 13 hours of CLE each year. At least 2 hours must be in the area of Ethics and at least 1 hour must in in the area of Substance Abuse. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits by December 31st and report by March 1st each year.

Attorneys may carry over up to 20 hours of CLE credit for up to 2 years.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly admitted Nevada attorneys are exempt from a CLE requirement for the calendar year in which they are admitted, and for the following full calendar year.

Newly admitted attorneys must complete the Transitioning Into Practice ("TIP") program through the State Bar of Nevada. This is a six-month mentoring program required of anyone who is newly admitted to practice in Nevada and has been practicing for five years or less.

Online Courses

Nevada attorneys may earn all 13 hours of CLE through online courses.
